Terms of Service

These terms cover your use of this website and purchases from Mertel Pty Ltd (ABN 88 644 567 019), trading as Express Repairs ("we", "us"), of Riverwood Plaza, 257 Belmore Rd, Riverwood NSW 2210. By using the site or placing an order request you agree to these terms. We've kept them in plain English on purpose. NBN internet plans have their own NBN Service Terms, and our Privacy Policy covers personal information.

1. Repair quotes and bookings

  • Prices shown on our repair pages are genuine prices for the listed model and repair, but a quote is confirmed when we've seen the phone — occasionally an inspection reveals additional damage, and we'll tell you before doing any extra work.
  • A booking or quote request through this site doesn't cost anything and doesn't commit you to anything. We'll call you to confirm before any work happens.
  • Repairs come with the warranty stated on the relevant repair page. That warranty is in addition to, and does not limit, your Australian Consumer Law rights.

2. Shop orders — how buying works

The online catalogue takes order requests, not payments. No payment details are collected on this website. Here's the flow:

  • You send us your order through the cart. This is a request, not a completed purchase.
  • We call you to confirm the items, availability and total price. A contract of sale forms only when we've confirmed your order and you've agreed to proceed.
  • You pay in store at pickup, or as arranged with us when we confirm a delivery order.
  • If an item turns out to be unavailable or listed at an obviously incorrect price, we'll tell you when we call and you're free to cancel — you haven't paid anything.

3. Pricing

  • All prices on this site are in Australian dollars and include GST.
  • Shipping costs and free-shipping thresholds are shown in the cart and on our Shipping & Returns page.
  • We do our best to keep the catalogue accurate, but with thousands of products the occasional error slips through. Because no payment is taken online, any error is corrected on the confirmation call before you've spent a cent.

4. Your consumer rights

Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with a service, you are entitled to cancel your service contract with us and to a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value. For major failures with goods, you are entitled to a replacement or refund, and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. If a failure does not amount to a major failure, you are entitled to have it fixed in a reasonable time. See Shipping & Returns for how to make a claim.

5. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot be excluded. Beyond those rights, we're not liable for loss caused by events outside our reasonable control, or for indirect loss (for example, loss of profits) arising from your use of this website.

Back up your device before a repair. We take care with every phone, but data can be lost during any repair, and we can't guarantee data on a device left with us. Backing up first is the only safe option.

6. The website

  • Content on this site (text, images, layout) belongs to us or our licensors — don't reuse it commercially without asking.
  • Product images and manufacturer names are used to identify the products; trademarks remain the property of their owners. We are an independent repairer and retailer, not affiliated with Apple, Samsung or other device manufacturers unless stated.
  • Information on the site (including blog articles) is general in nature and provided in good faith — for advice about your specific device, talk to us.

7. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, the current version will always live at this page with an updated effective date. Changes don't affect orders we've already confirmed.
